Single action top break automatic extraction revolver with six-chambered fluted cylinder, fixed rear sight on top strap, integral half-moon front sight blade, finger extension on triggerguard and fixed lanyard ring in butt. Barrel with one-line roll mark that reads: +SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD, MASS. U.S.A. PAT. JULY 10. 60. JAN. 17. FEB. 17. JULY 11. 65. & AUG. 24. 69. RUSSIAN MODEL+. Butt stamped with serial number 44733 and the date 1874. Matching serial number stamped in left grip panel. Rear face of cylinder and bottom of frame catch assembly numbered 5613.
