Smith & Wesson New Model Russian Commercial Revolver


.44 Russian. 6.5" barrel. SN: 44733. Blued finish, color casehardened hammer, smooth two-piece walnut grips. Single action top break automatic extraction revolver with six-chambered fluted cylinder, fixed rear sight on top strap, integral half-moon front sight blade, finger extension on triggerguard and fixed lanyard ring in butt. Barrel with one-line roll mark that reads: +SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD, MASS. U.S.A. PAT. JULY 10. 60. JAN. 17. FEB. 17. JULY 11. 65. & AUG. 24. 69. RUSSIAN MODEL+. Butt stamped with serial number 44733 and the date 1874. Matching serial number stamped in left grip panel. Rear face of cylinder and bottom of frame catch assembly numbered 5613. Condition
Very good. Bore partly bright, lightly oxidized and frosted with strong rifling. Metal with much of the blue remaining on the barrel, less on the frame and cylinder. Markings remain clear and crisp. Mechanically functional action. Grips with moderate wear, showing scattered bumps, dings and mars.
